wall-outlet ƒ/27.0, 2 s, 100 ISO

I recently bought a house in the nice city of Saint Peter. It’s a great place and we are working on turning it into a duplex so I can rent out half of it. Well, the thing was chock full of wallpaper which I wasn’t very fond of, so I rented a steamer and got Sam and my parents to help me take it off. Man is that a lot of work. It took us three whole days, from morning to night, just to get the wallpaper off of three rooms—€”two bedrooms and the kitchen area. Now we have to get the glue off and paint. My advice: hire a professional.

This is one of the walls in the last bedroom that we did. We were so tired by the time we got this far that we got off the bulk of it and gave up. I really liked the way that the light was coming in through the window and striking the wall. This is also my Photo Friday entry for this week’s challenge, “Somber.”

  2. This is cool because (even though your story is a good one) you can look at this and wonder how this wall ended up looking the way it did. It really gives this picture feeling. And the contrast of lighting between the left and right sides of the picture intensifies that feeling. I also like how the straight lines of the floor and wall kind of frame the outlet to and draw your eye to it. Good shot.
