red scooter

A few weeks ago, Sam and I went on a road trip from Minnesota to New York. Since we had never been to Canada before, we decided to cut across the southern border of the wonderful country on our way to New York and back. It was really nice and beautiful, and on our way back, we swung up to Montreal where I took this shot of a red scooter. This is actually in Chinatown, so everything is either in French or Chinese (I assume).
Sam said that she liked the color version better than this not-so-color version. I’m still not sure which I prefer, but check it out if you’d like to and let me know what you think.
I have been toying with the idea of getting a Diana Camera (pun intended) or one of her clones, probably mostly for doing black and white stuff. Or maybe a cool Holga. I know they are cheap, so I should just go ahead and do it already, but if you have any experience or advice that I should follow when picking one out, do tell. They look like so much fun and the images that I’ve seen them take are so beautiful.

I like the b+w version better. The toning is great and the use of lighting to highlight the bike is exceptional.

Brillant shot - I love the sharpness of it.

Thanks. Andy - After looking at the two some more, next to each other, I think that I like the black and white version better too. RobW - The sharpness of this photograph is achieved by a Photoshop CS2 Smart Sharpen right at the very end of the process.
