A concession stand at the recent Rock Bend Folk Festival. This photograph was taken with my Holga and it’s incredibly grainy. I think that it is because of a combination of not developing it exactly properly and the ISO 400 film that I used… It probably has more to do with the 400 film than the developing though, but still. Also, I’m not really sure why this one has such a purple cast to it. That could definitely be linked to weird devloping. Old fixer maybe? I guess don’t really know.
This shot reminds me a lot of my childhood. When I was growing up, my dad owned a few different food stands and I would go with him and work different county fairs and festivals. He did the Fisher peanut stand at the Minnesota State Fair and sold HI-C for like 12 years and then got a better stand and sold hot pasties for about four years before selling it and getting out of that racket. He also had a hot dog and coney island stand for a while that we would take around to local fairs and festivals. It was a lot of fun actually.

I like the grain and the grittiness of this picture. I’ve always wanted to use a Holga, but I’ve never gotten around to it. With digital my Lomo doesn’t get used much. And a Dirkon that I made this summer hasn’t even had a roll run through it yet.
