From Wikipedia:
Paul T. Granlund (October 6, 1925, Minneapolis, Minnesota - September 15, 2003, Mankato, Minnesota) was recognized worldwide as a premier sculptor. His creative career spanned more than 50 years and more than 650 different sculptures.
Granlund has a whole bunch of great sculptures on Gustavus’ campus. In fact, his sculptures are one of the more unique things about Gustavus. I quite like them, and I have my favorites, of course. This one is called Masks of the Muses and is located just outside of the Evelyn Anderson theatre in the fine arts building. It’s a pretty neat sculpture, but it’s not my favorite and it is probably one of the most difficult on campus to properly photograph. I was lying on the ground to get this shot.
I went to the new Wallace and Gromit movie with Sam the other night and then out for Mexican at this place in Mankato, Minnesota called Mazatlan for dinner. Food there = yum. Plus, I got a 32 oz Dos Equis Amber for only $4.50. The movie was great, but too bad about the whole fire thing… I can’t even imagine what that must be like for the people involved. So much time and work and effort and passion are now all gone. It’s probably the saddest thing that I heard about all day.
Today’s photo of the day has a nice grain. Plus, I have actually been there, so that makes it a little cooler for me.

What I like most about this shot is the ambiguity of scale. The sculpture looks like it could be 5 inches tall or 50 feet.
