an-arc-of-light ƒ/5.6, 4 s, 100 ISO

Unfortunately, a lot of the more interesting stuff going on in this photograph sorta just disappeared when I resized it down for the web. There were a buch of really neat interlocking white rings of light in the bright area of the arc. Also, the grid was a lot more apparent in that area in the larger version.

All in all I am really pleased with the final result of this image. I took a few other similar shots. I will one of them tomorrow. This one is my favorite of the two, so I posted it first. However, the other is pretty good as well. I nearly made this into a diptych.

While it is not entirely obvious what the subject of this photograph is, it seems fairly clear to me (can you tell what it is? the categories might be a good hint). Still, it is abstract enough that it could represent a number of different things to the observer, which is, I believe, sorta the point of a lot of abstract art.

What does this image mean to you? What does it represent? What memories does it invoke? How does it make you feel? In which ways do you relate to it?

  1. I’m guessing it’s an abstract-around -the-house-color-object…

It looks one of those teabag holders that you use so the teabag doesn’t explode and get the leaves all over the place. And maybe it got so hot that it started on fire.

So, yes… this image represents hot tea.

  2. Right on Beth, you guessed it! It is a tea infuser that goes with my Tetsubin teapot.
