Outside my tetsubin teapot

Once again, my tetsubin teapot. You are probably sitting there and saying to yourself, “Gosh, what a sweet teapot. But, what do those strange characters mean?” To be honest, I don’t really have a great answer for that question. But, there are four of them on the teapot and I believe that they represent the four seasons: spring, summer, winter, and autumn. I think they may be Japanese characters (being a Japanese teapot), so if you are an expert in Japanese please inform the world by leaving a comment. I have some friends who know Japanese. I don’t know why I don’t just ask them…
The Thanksgiving meal that my mom and I slaved over was absolutely fantastic. It was pretty much this menu and recipies that I found on Epicurious with only one minor change: instead of pumpkin in the dessert we used butternut squash. There were only two downsides. First, the meal was kinda expensive. But, since it was a one-time holiday thing, that doesn’t matter quite so much. Second, a lot of time in preparation went into the meal. Don’t get me wrong, I love to cook. It can be a lot of fun and a great creative outlet. But, the two of us spent probably eight to ten hours apiece just cooking. Cleanup was a whole other story. But, the payoff was so worth it. So totally worth it.
Happy black friday. Today I will brew my first batch of beer. I have everything set up and ready to go and set aside some time to get it all going. I am quite excited.

Brew haha! Yes, it is getting cold enough around here to brew a lager. Hope your beer comes out. The hard part is waiting once it’s in the bottle…

Earl: Thanks for the well-wishing. This time around I am brewing an Irish Stout. I just finished transfering it into my secondary fermenter. It looks like it will be turning out quite well.
Miles: Thanks! I’m glad that you like the light and texture. The lighting for this shot is nothing other than the ceiling lights in my kitchen. Go figure.
