This is similar to yesterday’s abstract shot, although I prefer this one. I don’t know why, but it just feels more genuine. Whatever that means. I think that it might be the nice gradation. The Swedish painter and sculptor, Karl Momen, once told me that if you can master the fine art of painting a gradient then you can paint anything. Looking at some of his paintings I can definitely see where he is coming from.
I tried to enhance the noise (grain) and the subtle green color in the upper left hand corner of the frame using some curves adjustment layers.
Today’s photo of the day has a sublime tone to it and is supremely sharp. You would be wise to check it out. Gosh, it makes me really want a 5D and a set of Canon L series lenses.
Update (11/29/2005): I just woke up and found out that my photo of this busted up truck was selected as noteworthy for last week’s Photo Friday challenge, “Imperfection.” Thanks everybody who voted!
Update (12/03/2005): This is my submission for this week’s Photo Friday challenge: “Experimental.”
