Number five in the bosc pear series. I might just be done with this series… mostly because I’m getting bored with pictures of pears. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
All in all, I’m really pleased with how this shot turned out. I love the marks in the cutting board.. It adds a whole new level of texture to the series. This is probably also my favorite of the series and it makes me want to kinda go back and reprocess some of the others to match this one better. But then again, if you look at the series as a whole, and take into account Rob’s comment about the first one being a dead body, you trace everything back to this photo and the pear is whole again. It has a nice little warmness to it.
Post processing after RAW conversion: noise ninja, curves adjustment layer on cutting board to darken, minor curves adjustment layer on the pear to add contrast, black and white painting in soft light mode, and a hue/saturation adjustment layer to fix some extra redness. Then resizing and sharpening the lightness channel in lab mode to prevent chromatic abberations.
Tonight is a momentous occasion: my first batch of homebrew will officially be ready to drink later on tonight. It’s going to be completely awesome.
