Swanson Tennis Center 1

A shot of Swanson Tennis Center at Gustavus Adolphus College. Most people on campus usually refer to this as the tennis bubble. It looks a bit out of place on campus, but is pretty cool, especially at night when it is lit up fronm the inside like a gigantic frosted lightbulb protruding from the ground. It makes a lot of sense that it’s there, too, because Gustavus has had some pretty good tennis players like Eric Butorac. Maybe it was one of those “if you build it, they will come,” Bubble of Dreams type of deals.
Sam and I bottled the nut brown ale yesterday. Everything looks great and the samples tasted pretty on, so I’m pretty excited at how the final beer will turn out. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look quite as clear as the last batch, and I think it’s because this time around I didn’t use the Irish moss as a clarifying agent. Hopefully the clarity won’t affect the flavor too much.
Finally, the finalists for the 2006 Bloggies are up. You should go vote for your favorites. I would also like to mention that I have donated a prize for the “Best Photography of a Weblog” category. I am honored to give this prize because the Bloggies are essentially where I fell in love with the idea of photoblogging.

I thought it was a mattress, if you can see where I’m coming from, lol. Great shot here. If you hadn’t said what it was I would still think it was a mattress.

I could see where mattress would come from, but the tennis dome is a lot more fun to poke. Nice use of lines and shading on this picture.

Gavin, you’re right… it does look like a mattress. I hadn’t thought of that before. I did, however, think it looked a lot like a quilt.
Thanks for the comments guys.
