Kelsey Feldmann’s Legs
May 23, 2006A papier-mâché pair of legs hanging from the ceiling with fishing line from the Senior Art Exhibition 2006 at the Hillstrom Museum of Art.
I’m almost done with this diptych series from the art show. I would have done this one like the others—with one panel of the art and the other panel of the name, but the shot I took of the name thing didn’t turn out at all. Besides, I think that these two photos go well together.
I’m off now to go frame some things! Hopefully I will be able to get into the building that has the equipment that I need. And I hope that it isn’t raining by the time that I’m done… I’m going to have to figure out how to get the supplies to my car without getting anything wet.

Good question Marius. I’m not sure if they are made from real legs or not, but I picture the artist putting the newspaper on either a person or a mannequin and then cutting it off in sections to re-assemble it later. It seems like it would have to have been a mannequin though because it takes a while for that stuff to dry. I don’t think that I could still for that long.

They are forms of REAL legs. I am Kelsey’s mother and recall her telling me how awful it was to wait for the paper mache to dry!
