Cantaloupe, Cucumis melo reticulatus

Here are two macro shots of the usually-delicious cantaloupe, a cultivar of the Cucumis melo species (generally referred to simply as muskmelon).
From Wikipedia:
In some parts of Australia and New Zealand, it is usually called rockmelon due to the rock-like appearance of the skin of the fruit.
The weather has been unbelievably perfect here in Minnesota these past few days. If you are in the area, I hope you have had the chance to enjoy it while it lasts. Autumn is, by far, my favorite season—I look forward to this time each year.

Loved the tetsubin & infuser shots and I really fell for the cantaloupe. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I’d found the link on a tea site. The cantaloupe skin reminds me of a cake of pu-ehr tea.

Amazing shot; the thumbnail looked like an old fishing net.
