One problem i’ve run into is with the FancyZoom extension. See here. Basically the same idea as lightbox. Problem is when I go to a site that uses fancyzoom the lightbox will show up instead. For now I’ve just added exceptions in the greasemonkey script but it would be nice if it was automatic. Thanks for the great work.

On some pages it shows the top bar and the “loading” graphic all the way at the bottom of the page, even when I haven’t clicked on any image links.
Qwantz.com is a good example.

I take that back. It was due to interference with another Greasemonkey plugin that apparently doesn’t work quite right.

@Josh – I’m glad you got it sorted out. Care to share what the other Greasemonkey script is called?

Sure thing. It was the NIV Bible Refalizer.

What exactly does this script do?

@hcabbos – When you click on links that go to images on many sites (like Google Image Search, Flickr, or FFFFOUND!), they will open on top of the current page instead of going to a whole new page. You can then cycle through the images on the page by using your arrow keys or zoom in and out by using the plus and minus keys. For more information, check out the Greased Lightbox project page.

I’m familiar with lightbox-type scripts but the examples–at least the pics showing under the heading “Images to Test With” on the project page–aren’t opening in a modal type window. They simply open up in the same page but different URL. I’ve tried Safari and Firefox on Mac.

Never mind. I see the requirements now. I didn’t have the Greasemonkey extension installed.

okay, maybe i’m having simply a ‘blank’ day.
i’ve installed the latest greasemonkey. I’ve restarted firefox (v.2.0.0.12)
I’ve even downloaded the script.
but how exactly does this script get put into action?

Great script, but it seems never to work for pictures from Google Images’ “newly digitized LIFE photo archive.” Every picture gives me an “Image unavailable” message. Just a heads up. Looks great when it does work, tho.

“Image unavailable” is the message I receive too on google images, even though the image loads behind this message most of the time.
