While I’m still a ways off from being able to use the setup very well, I think things are getting there. As with anything new, it’ll just take a little practice.

And did you know that coffee beans are actually not beans at all? They are seeds. Look it up.

If you are interested in making the best coffee ever without spending a truckload, get yourself an Aeropress. They are the best. But, if you do get one, do yourself a favor and read up on it in the coffee geek forums. There are a lot of nuances in making coffee that I never knew about before I got one.

Update (1/27/2007) — This photo is now available for free download as desktop wallpaper.

Sorry friends, but I moved it out of the description tag and into an enclosure. So, if your RSS reader supports enclosures (and it really should), then you should be just fine. As always, let me know if anything strage is now happening that I don’t know about.

I decided to put this one up in black and white because, unlike the previous few photos, the color in it was just crap. I think it turned out pretty well. It has a lot of drama going on, which can be a good thing.

What drew me to this shot was the lines going down the dirt road, left from a tire, matched by the lines going down the side of the ditch in the grass, probably made by a lawn mower. I’m actually very happy with how it turned out. It looks even better larger because you can see so much more detail in the grass and the corn fields. And if I’m not mistaken, that sign in the distance is the same sign from this photo. And, as an added bonus, that car parked right next to the sign that you can barely see is actually my car, right where I had pulled off the road.

Yesterday was an exciting day. While I didn’t exactly take any photos, I did go up to Edina to visit my friends, Rob and Alyssa. We watched the Vikings barely beat the Packers and then Rob and I went for a walk. It was great because we found a Fisher radio and record player sitting on the curb with signs that said “FREE” taped to them. I had been wanting a record player for some time now, so I am quite excited about this. And the best part is that everything seems to work–I just have to replace one fuse. So, if you have any sweet records that you don’t want anymore, send me an e-mail.

Hopefully they’ll be just as good as this one.

Unfortunately, the clock in my camera seems to have been off when I took this last set of shots, so all of the times are a couple of hours too early. This one, instead of having been taken at about 4:00 pm, was actually probably taken at about 10:00 pm.

I am going to be working hardcore on a big project this weekend that I have been working on for about a year now. It’s nothing at all exciting, and I’ll be glad to finally be able to cross it off of my list. I’m hoping that once I’m done with that, then I’ll have a little bit more free time to do more of the things that I enjoy. Maybe I’ll have the time to take care of a dog.

It is from the other night when Sam and I went out into the country to take some night shots. I haven’t looked through them too much, but hopefully there are a few more that are like this in the batch. That would make me quite happy.

This is a cornfield where we first pulled off the road. The moon was so bright that it didn’t take a very long exposure to get a decently exposed shot. Unfortunatley, I was working with a lens that I am fairly unfamiliar with, and I didn’t have a flashlight with me, so focusing was extra difficult. However, I managed quite well and things seemed to work out.

The clouds were amazing just before I left my house. I was hoping they would still be the same by the time I got to wherever I was going, but they had already changed. That’s alright though, because they were still quite nice.
