chairs 3 by Joe Lencioni

chairs 3 ƒ/4.5, 1/1 s, 100 ISO

The third in the chairs series. It is mostly a repeat of yesterday’s shot, so there’s not a whole lot to say about it other than I like it. The shimmery area in the upper right corner of the photograph is one of those thick, oddly surfaced windows that you see in bathrooms and stuff to let light in while keeping privacy. I think my grandparents had those windows in their bathroom and I remember looking out through them at the blurry images when I was young.

Because I don’t have any studio lights or lighting equipment at all, I just used what was available in the basement where I was photographing these chairs. If I remember correctly, there was just one hanging flourescent light in the middle of the room. I think it worked really well for this scene.

On a sidenote, I noticed that this photo is compositionally similar to a basement shot that I posted last month: basement 3. It’s sorta flipped over though.

I also just realized that my site looks totally broken and messed up in internet explorer on my pc. I’ll work on that maybe this coming weekend if I feel up to it.
