These photographs are the beginning of a project that I am currently calling Mostly Context. This project is a photographic exploration that pushes the usual subjects to the side to make way for the blurry, out-of-focus contexts. I hope that these photos will bring people to examine the relationship between subject and object (self and other) and the interconnectedness of all things.
When taking photos, my primary aim is to produce an image that is enjoyable or interesting to look at. The meaning or message of my art is often a secondary concern because I believe that an image necessarily has a different meaning for each person regardless of the artist’s intention. And, of course, this meaning can change over time.
I am a fan of dialog and conversation and I hope that my art can add to these in a positive way.
